Did you know that 82 percent of all financial donations come from just 25 percent of the donors?  Besides encouraging current donors to continue donating, the Alberta government wants to encourage new donors to step forward and assist their favorite charities as well!

Effective January 1, 2007, the Alberta government increased the provincial charitable tax credit on eligible annual donation above $200.00. 

Including the federal tax credit, Albertans now receive a 50-cent tax credit for every dollar donated over the $200 threshold. 

The Edmonton Social Planning Council is a registered charity which issues tax receipts for donations over $10.00. 

We encourage you to donate to your favorite non-profit organizations if you are in a financial position to do so. Donations are a great way to assist organizations with their efforts, while also allowing you to take advantage of the incentives established by the Alberta government.
