Welfare rates and the MBM

This fact sheet compares current welfare rates with the new low income measuring tool, the Market Basket Measure (MBM). According to our calculations, families living on welfare in Edmonton fall hundreds of dollars short in being able to pay for the basic basket of goods and services detailed in the MBM.
