City of Edmonton The Way We Prosper |

The City of Edmonton is developing a new Economic Development Plan. The Way We Prosper will identify strategies that build off of existing strengths, as well as identify new and emerging economic opportunities on which to base the future prosperity of our City. The strategy will also identify key challenges, gaps and barriers and assess the local asset base as they pertain to achievement of successful economic development.
As part of this effort, the City is considering the perspective of local businesses and community stakeholders. Participation in the City's questionnaire will assist them in further identifying key strengths and weaknesses as well as challenges that need to be addressed in moving forward with a new economic development agenda.

In This Together: Ending Poverty In Alberta 
The
Edmonton Social Planning Council, the Alberta College of Social Workers, and Public Interest Alberta released a
new report In This Together: Ending Poverty in Alberta revealing the latest available data that 73,000 Alberta children lived
below Statistics Canada's low-income cut-off (after-tax) in 2009. This was a 40% increase from the year before. The document also offers solutions to alleviating poverty in Alberta. |
